Power Finance Corporation has extended financial assistance of Rs 2.24 crore towards skill development for unemployed youth belonging to SC/ST/OBC/ PWD/Women and EWS of society in six States of North East Region through Central Agricultural University (CAU), Manipur under PFC’s CSR initiatives for FY 2018-19 .
A Memorandum of Agreement has been signed between Power Finance Corporation and Central Agricultural University, Manipur for execution of this project at the College of PG Studies, Barapani, Meghalaya in presence of Rajeev Sharma, CMD, PFC, Professor Premjit Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Central Agriculture University and D Ravi, Director (Comm) Power Finance Corporation.
The CSR Project intends to train 390 unemployed youth belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Women/EWS of society across six North East Region States.
13 courses in Agriculture sector will be offered by CAU with a mandate of ensuring 70 % of the self-employment/wage employment of the beneficiaries upon completion of the training.
