IIM Ahmedabad and UAE’s BRS Venture sign MoU to offer executive education in Dubai
India’s best B-school, the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and UAE’s BRS Venture has signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish IIM-A’s first extension centre in Dubai. The MoU was signed during World Government Summit where PM Modi was invited to address the plenary session.
The centre will begin with executive education programmes that are relevant to the region and will include both open learning and customised training programmes. With the synergy, this partnership is expected to benefit both the organisations, besides benefiting the UAE regional business and governance.
The MoU was signed during PM Modi’s West Asia visit and World Government Summit in Abu Dhabi, an annual event held in Dubai, that brings together leaders in government for a global dialogue about governmental process and policies with a focus on the issues of futurism, technology and innovation. IIM-A will provide academic and training expertise, while BRS Ventures will facilitate the required support, including infrastructure, industry links and logistics.
The Institute will help a large number of Indians settled in Dubai and ensure subject-specific industry partnerships. In a phased manner, depending on response and other factors, IIMA-BRS Ventures will consider rolling out other programmes in UAE of longer duration, said Prof. Errol D’Souza, Director, IIM-Ahmedabad. BRS Venture has also joined hands with Manipal Global Education Service to offer medical education in India.
Private universities of India namely SP Jain, BITS Pilani and IMT Ghaziabad have already set up campus in India.
