The Cyber Security market currently at $1 billion, is expected to grow to $35 billion by 2025. The demand for skilled professionals in this field is very high. The apex body for the IT industry NASSCOM launched Cyber Security Task Force earlier this year. The task force aims to grow the Cyber Security industry in India from the 1% market share to 10% by 2025; create a trained base of 1 million certified and skilled Cyber Security professionals and build 1000+ startups in Cyber Security from India. Defence Institute of Advanced Technologies, Pune

DIAT, Pune offers Master of Technologies degree with specialisation in Cyber Security. The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology, (DIAT) as it is known today, came into being as the Institute of Armament Studies in 1952 in the CME campus. On the basis of accreditation by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), Pune University recognised eight courses for the award of ME degree in 1980. In the year 2000, the Institute acquired the status of a Deemed University. Both regular and defence personnel are allowed to apply for the course. The institute is fully funded by DRDO, Ministry of Defence.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a multi-campus, multi-disciplinary research academia that is accredited ‘A’ by NAAC and is ranked as one of the best research institutions in India. Amrita is spread across five campuses in three states of India – Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, with the headquarters at Ettimadai, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. IIIT, Hyderabad

International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad offers M.Tech in Computer Science and Information Security. M.Tech in CSIS is aimed at producing the much needed highly skilled manpower in the area of Information Security. The program is being supported by Information Security Education and Awareness (ISEA) project from the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT). It is a 2-year masters programme.An applicant to this programme is required to be a B.Tech in CS/ECE/IT or MCA with BSc. (Maths) or MSc (Maths/CS). The course is mainly research oriented. Students for this program are selected by a nationwide test followed by a rigorous interview. IIIT Hyderabad only takes 10 candidates. All M.Tech CSIS students are paid a stipend for living expenses as per project rules.

NIIT University

The M.Tech in Cyber Security is a unique programme offered by NIIT University (NU) in collaboration with PwC Private Limited.  The programme is designed to take students through the wider aspects of security threats, challenges and associated strategies for solving such problems. Three verticals that have been identified for specialisation are the following – threat intelligence, application security and security analytics. During the course, students are exposed to various tools for secure communications, analytics and threat management.

The two-year curriculum is aligned with the demand of the industry. The unique design of the Programme focuses on providing a high degree of industry exposure, by academic and functional experts from the industry in this domain.

Fees – Rs 4,00,000.

International Institute of Digital Technologies, Tirupati

IIDT is a unique initiative by the Government of Andhra Pradesh which is aimed at unlocking the potential of this enlightened age, and which strives towards enabling the role of digital technologies in innovating for a better future. To this end, the IIDT has set itself the ambitious goal of becoming one of the top 100 Digital Technology Institutions in the world by 2022. IIDT currently offers PGP in Cyber Security and PGP in Business Analytics. Soon, it plans to offer post graduation in Fintech, Blockchain, IoT etc. The campus is located at Sri Venkateshwara University.
