NPTEL partners with CII to provide 226 technical courses

Indian MOOCs provider NPTEL has partnered with Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) to provide 226 technical courses. The National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is fully funded Massive Online Open Courses (MOOCs) initiative of Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India.

Indian corporates are in need to reskill their employees in the age of fast-moving technology. NPTEL has launched an ‘Industry Associate Programme’ allowing companies to use its human resources to train and reskill their employees at no extra cost.

NPTEL is an initiative of seven Indian Institutes of Technology (Bombay, Delhi, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Guwahati and Roorkee) along with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. With a large number of student enrollee, NPTEL has become one of largest MOOCs provider in the world.

CII South has set up Edugateway with a motive – To focus on connecting the Education Institutions and Industries to provide better learning and outcome in the Education space in order to improve the skill efficiency of the youth for their better productivity and hence for the growth of the nation. CIIedugateway is a platform to connect Industries and Institutions. Students who get admission in the prestigious IITs and IIMs can now view classroom lectures directly on YouTube. This has been done, stimulating to the need to enrich and enlighten students under various sectors and corresponding opportunities.

CII’s Edu Gateway ( is a single point solution for various opportunities comprising of Jobs, Internships, Higher Education Opportunities, Industry expert connect, International Partnership, Adjunct Faculty etc., which not just supports the future of the students but also provides a stepping stone to reach the Industry expectations as well.

Students who are currently studying can also search for internships, in partnership with Internshala. Both paid and unpaid internships are available on the portal. The objective of the initiative is to promote skill development. CII will help close the loop between academia, industry, and colleges by connecting them through this initiative.
